About That Farming Physio

Storm has been a dedicated physiotherapist since 2002. After earning her Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) from AUT, she quickly advanced her education, obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2004.

Following the birth of her fourth child, Storm took a hiatus from physiotherapy to focus on motherhood and farming.

In May 2022, Storm and her husband purchased a hill country farm in Te Karaka, where they now raise sheep and beef.

In response to the damage caused by Cyclone Gabrielle and ongoing changes in the market, Storm returned to physiotherapy. She recognised that farmers and rural communities often face poorer health outcomes than those living in urban areas and founded That Farming Physio to provide practical information, support and care for this community.

Through her Instagram and Facebook pages, as well as her weekly subscription newsletter, Storm shares valuable insights, advice and education to help rural people better understand their bodies, manage injuries and keep moving well.

Storm offers private consultations without the need for a referral. She can support both private and ACC-covered injuries, create ACC claims, and refer patients to specialists, consultants, and for imaging such as x-rays and ultrasounds.

Her appointments are longer than standard physiotherapy sessions, with initial consultations lasting 60 minutes and follow-ups lasting 30 minutes. Storm sees clients both online and in person.

For some conditions, online appointments are a great option. However, there may be times when a hands-on assessment with a local therapist is recommended to help clarify a diagnosis, with follow-up care continuing online with Storm.

Storm’s clients have shared wonderful feedback about their experience, with many online clients surprised by how practical, personal and effective online physiotherapy can be. Due to New Zealand regulations, outcome-based testimonials cannot be used for business promotion, but you can read the full collection of feedback and reviews here.
